University of Wyoming student finds new order of insect in Yellowstone National Park
- A University of Wyoming biology student found three Ice Crawlers in two spots inside Yellowstone National Park, the first time the rare insect has been documented in Wyoming.
- The insect had previously been found only in Northeast Asia, Siberia, Canada, and parts of the Northwest U.S., and only 35 species have ever been described.
- The student will present his results at a national entomology meeting next month and is working on a paper for scientific journals.
