It’s Okay to Ask for Help
- The University of Wyoming's Pokes Food Pantry offers free food, clothing, hygiene products and children's items to students, staff and faculty with a valid UW ID.
- The pantry is meant to address food insecurity, which affects around 40% of the student population, according to Jess Dooley, who oversees the Polk Center for Community Resources.
- No proof of need is required, and users can take up to 45 food items a week and 10 clothing items per visit.
- Last year the pantry recorded over 7,900 visits from about 403 households, and Dooley encourages anyone in the UW community to stop by.
