Harry Chapin Food Bank launches refrigerated food lockers
- Harry Chapin Food Bank has launched its first Smart Food Locker Program at The Joseph Project in Clewiston, giving residents of Hendry and Glades counties a secure, refrigerated way to pick up groceries.
- Residents reserve food online and use a unique code to retrieve about 20 pounds of food from the 16-compartment system, which was funded by a $62,273 state grant.
- A second location is planned at Gladiolus Food Pantry in south Fort Myers' Harlem Heights community, bringing the total to 32 compartments.
