$6M Yellow Fever Creek Preserve opens in Cape Coral with camping and disc golf
- Cape Coral opened the Yellow Fever Creek Preserve on Friday, Oct. 30, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and staff-led guided tours.
- The $6 million preserve offers 23 campsites, nature trails, a fishing pond, the city's first disc golf course, an outdoor classroom and a welcome center.
- It was funded by a general obligation bond voters approved in 2018 and finished about two years later than planned because of contractor issues.
- The site also serves a restoration purpose, moving excess water from the Gator Slough Canal into the Yellow Fever Creek System to rehydrate wetlands and improve water quality.
