Local nonprofit gives thousands of books to kids in SW Florida
- An Estero-based nonprofit, BelieveNBooks, has launched a 'My Very Own Book' initiative that has already given more than 6,800 young children across eight Florida counties a book to take home.
- Through partnerships with two Early Learning Coalitions, more than 150 early learning centers received books, reaching pre-kindergarten students in Lee and seven other counties.
- Each child got a copy of Pete the Cat Too Cool for School, part of an effort to build home libraries and support early literacy and kindergarten readiness.
