RSW's Concourse E: A first look inside Fort Myers airport's new addition
- Southwest Florida International Airport officials gave a media tour of the new Concourse E on Oct. 29, showing off construction progress on the $1.2 billion expansion.
- The concourse will initially add 14 gates and roughly 500,000 square feet of space, with room to expand to 19 gates as demand dictates.
- It is expected to open in about a year, with construction completion expected in 2027, and will include new restaurants, a United Club lounge and a centralized TSA checkpoint.
- American, Frontier and United will move their operations to the new concourse, and roadway and pedestrian bridge work is underway to handle more airport traffic.
