Transportation 2050
- Phoenix is marking ten years since voters approved Transportation 2050, a 35-year plan to expand and improve the city's transportation network.
- New data in the city's Long-Term Metrics report shows progress over the program's second five years, including 479 bus shelter shade structures, more than 6 miles of light rail extensions, 181 miles of new bike lanes and 20,191 updated or new ADA ramps.
- Mayor Kate Gallego said the investments have improved commutes, accelerated street maintenance and expanded bus and light rail service, and officials say the work is only the beginning of the voter-approved effort.
