Mr. Lucky’s at 60: A look at Phoenix’s legendary country bar over the years
- Mr. Lucky's, the legendary Phoenix country nightclub on Grand Avenue, opened 60 years ago this month and is being remembered in a photo retrospective.
- The double-decked honky-tonk, opened in October 1966 by Valley entrepreneur Bob Sikora, hosted country stars in its main room and rock and pop bands in the basement.
- Its 50-foot neon jester sign became a Grand Avenue landmark, and the club drew touring legends from the late 1960s until it closed in 2004.
- The venue has hosted other businesses since but never matched its original four-decade run.
