Colorado's Opportunity Zone 2.0 tracts approved by U.S. Treasury
- The U.S. Treasury approved all 91 Colorado census tracts Gov. Jared Polis submitted as Opportunity Zones, including three in Mesa County.
- The zones let investors defer, reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes by funding projects in designated areas, and open for investment Jan. 1, 2027, lasting through 2036.
- Local economic development officials say the three approved tracts were the county's most investment-ready, and the state estimates the new round could draw over $4 billion statewide.
