Stone founders save Escondido brewery from closure
- Stone Brewing's co-founders have stepped in to keep the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido from closing permanently.
- The 57,000-square-foot restaurant and brewery had been scheduled to serve its final guests Nov. 13 after Sapporo announced it would wind down brewing there.
- Greg Koch and Steve Wagner are taking over operations and plan to reopen the venue under a new name, with craft beer still central to the experience.
