The Grauer School students donate excess harvest to two Encinitas food banks
- Students at The Grauer School in Encinitas harvested organic fruits and vegetables from the school garden and donated 130 lbs. of excess produce to two local food banks.
- Seventh-graders in the Life Science class picked Korean White sweet potatoes, carrots, potatoes, squash and peppers, and 12th-graders delivered the food the next day.
- The school says the project teaches science, sustainability and service, and the Community Resource Center said fresh food from neighbors means a great deal.
