UCSD Health to provide psychiatric care at Casa de Amparo
- Casa de Amparo, UC San Diego Health and the UC San Diego School of Medicine announced a collaboration in which university faculty and clinicians will provide psychiatric care to the San Marcos nonprofit's clients.
- UC San Diego psychiatry associate professor Dr. Emily Troyer has been named Casa de Amparo's first chief medical officer, working on site with youths who have experienced neglect or abuse.
- The nonprofit says the in-person care fills a gap left by virtual treatment and rotating providers, and it is also building a 20-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility on its San Marcos campus.
